Selatox Completes Indonesia’s First and Most Advanced Toxin Facility, Pioneering Halal Toxin Production

- Selatox Builds Advanced Biopharma Hub in Indonesia, Leveraging Strategic Advantages

- First-of-its-kind toxin manufacturing facility designed for halal-certified botulinum toxin production.

- Projected to scale commercial production by 2028, targeting 40+ international markets.

(Jakarta, March 20th 2025) PT Selatox Bio Pharma (Selatox) has officially completed the construction of Indonesia’s first and foremost specialized toxin manufacturing facility, securing the Sertifikat Laik Fungsi (SLF), a pivotal regulatory approval confirming the factory's compliance with all Indonesian building and operational standards. This milestone solidifies Selatox’s long-term commitment to establishing Indonesia as a global leader in toxin biopharmaceuticals, setting new industry benchmarks for halal toxin development.

Selatox strategically harnesses Indonesia’s geographic advantage at the heart of Southeast Asia, bolstered by government-backed biotech industry incentives and a dynamic talent ecosystem. As the world’s most populous Muslim-majority nation, Indonesia serves as an ideal launchpad for the development of halal-certified botulinum toxin, positioning Selatox as a frontrunner in ethical and globally scalable toxin manufacturing.

The integration of cutting-edge manufacturing infrastructure and rigorous adherence to advanced GMP protocols, slated for completion by 2026, will further fortify Selatox’s strategic ascent toward global market leadership in toxin biopharmaceuticals. By 2028, Selatox intends to commence large-scale commercial production and penetrate over 40 international markets, positioning itself as a dominant force in the industry. The company is poised to achieve an estimated US$ 100 million in annual revenue by 2032, with cumulative sales projected to exceed US$ 1billion by 2040, solidifying its status as a premier innovator in the global toxin sector.

Selatox manufacturing facility, strategically located in Jababeka Industrial Area, Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia, spans an expansive 18,469.36m², meticulously designed to support large-scale, high-precision toxin production. Engineered for maximum efficiency and operational excellence, the facility boasts an optimal Building Coverage Ratio (BCR) of 15.73% and a Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of 41.29%, ensuring a well-balanced infrastructure that integrates advanced manufacturing capabilities with sustainability considerations.

The facility is structured across multiple levels, with a dedicated three-floor manufacturing wing standing at 22 meters high, optimized for seamless production workflows and sterile processing environments. The engineering division, housed in a separate two-floor structure rising to 15 meters, is designed to support the facility’s sophisticated manufacturing processes, including precision-controlled environments and state-of-the-art automation systems. The plant is poised to accommodate a workforce of 120 full-time employees (FTEs) operating in a two-shift system, ensuring continuous and efficient production cycles. With a projected annual production capacity of 6.5 million vials, Selatox is setting the benchmark for large-scale toxin manufacturing in Indonesia.

Previously, Selatox unveiled a strategic initiative to substantially scale up its recruitment efforts, propelling advancements in Indonesia’s biopharmaceutical sector. The company is committed to onboarding 50 skilled professionals in 2025 and expanding its workforce to over 150 employees by 2026, fortifying its operational capacity in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and aseptic drug production across Indonesia.

A Selatox representative stated, "The completion of this facility, officially validated through SLF approval, marks the culmination of two years of rigorous planning and execution. This achievement represents the practical starting point in our journey as Indonesia’s first toxin manufacturing company. With this foundation firmly established, we are now positioned to assimilate high-precision manufacturing equipment and orchestrate the deployment of world-class GMP protocols by 2026, ensuring uncompromising excellence in biopharmaceutical production. Selatox remains steadfast in its commitment to growing alongside Indonesia and establishing new industry standards in the global toxin market."
