PT. Selatox Bio Pharma has announced plans to significantly expand its recruitment efforts to contribute to the advancement of the biopharmaceutical industry in Indonesia. The company aims to hire 50 employees in 2025 and expand its workforce to over 150 by 2026, strengthening its operations in biopharmaceutical and aseptic drug production facilities in Indonesia.
Selatox is Indonesia’s first botulinum toxin manufacturing facility. The company will adopt the high-purity toxin production process that was the first in Asia to receive FDA approval, allowing it to produce globally competitive botulinum toxin products locally. This strategic move will enable Selatox to develop and manufacture innovative biopharmaceuticals targeted at the global market while fostering a highly skilled workforce in Indonesia.
The recruitment drive spans various departments, including Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), Engineering, Production Planning & Inventory Management, Production, Research. A high proportion of new hires will be fresh graduates, ensuring young and talented individuals acquire essential biopharmaceutical industry skills. Additionally, employees will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge toxin manufacturing equipment, accelerating their growth as key players in the global biopharmaceutical sector.

Selatox, Indonesia's first specialized toxin manufacturing and research and development (R&D) center, has acquired high-purity toxin production process technology and know-how from the global healthcare company Daewoong.
For two decades, Daewoong has recognized Indonesia as more than an international market, positioning it as a collaborative growth partner through joint research, local production, social contributions, and talent development. Recognizing the outstanding potential of Indonesian talent, Daewoong has been committed since 2009 to supporting the development of local expertise by offering scholarships and internship opportunities to Indonesian students. The company has also established research centers and mentorship programs to foster advanced skills and capabilities.
Since opening its Jakarta branch in 2005, Daewoong has celebrated 20 years of shared growth with Indonesia. In 2012, Daewoong established Daewoong Infion, Indonesia’s first biopharmaceutical production facility, enabling technology transfers for biopharmaceutical manufacturing and providing Halal-certified EPO and EGF medicines. Remarkably, to strengthen local production through technology transfer, Daewoong completed the construction of a state-of-the-art stem cell therapy facility, in 2024.
As part of its ongoing commitment to Indonesia’s health and well-being, Daewoong has actively engaged in various community support initiatives. In 2019, Daewoong provided free health checkups to 1,000 firefighters and offered spinal treatments to 100 firefighters in need. To enhance medical expertise in Indonesia, Daewoong has also invited Indonesian medical professionals to South Korea for advanced training, equipping them with valuable skills to bring back to their communities. Furthermore, Daewoong established a Korean language academy at Bali’s PPB, offering free courses in language and culture, while also providing employment opportunities for exceptional students to develop into skilled professionals.
Selatox plans to further strengthen its quality system with the goal of obtaining GMP certification by 2026, and by 2028, it plans to complete product registration in Indonesia and make a full-scale entry into the global market through partnerships with approximately 40 countries. With manufacturing facilities in Cikarang and an R&D center in Depok, Selatox completed facility construction in 2023 and has finished preparations for full-scale toxin production and research.
Aiming for global commercialization by 2030, Selatox will focus on developing high-quality, halal-certified toxin products to drive growth in Indonesia and the global market.
